Ellanna is an Empire of power and influence. When the need of a small force is required. The emperor calls upon the Dorian Knights! These “Spear Knights” are the elite soldiers of the empire! Chosen out of the many hopefuls in imperial training grounds, these squires undergo rigorous training and then are battle hardened through servitude of an Errant Knight. Once their Knight seems it so, they are ordained as an Errant Knight and protector of the empire. They are granted Equine Status, fine Armour a Dorian Spear, and Shield. Upon full knighthood, they are granted a fiefdom, Manor or Tower, a squad of Errant knights and their squires, and a unit of soldiers to protect their fiefdom as well as serve the Empire when called upon. Their shield is a badge of honour, each mark, gash and dent illustrating the many battles they have fought. Their or Short Sword is more a symbol of their equine station than a tool for battle, although comes in handy in close combat.
